HOLIDAY NEWSLETTER:

It’s the week before Christmas and up where I write
There are boxes and gifts to be wrapped up tonight.
Over and over the menus I’ve fussed
And meanwhile my keyboard is gathering dust.
There’s much to be said for that fine Christmas spirit
But overworked authors would rather not hear it.
Can’t wait for the advent of 2010
When, blissfully, I’ll get to work once again ☺

Here’s the first draft of the tour schedule for HOUSE RULES, which arrives in bookstores on March 2. I hope you’ll mark your calendars and come on out to meet me! You’ll notice that this year, most events are off-site – the bookstores have graciously agreed to this so you all can sit comfortably and not have to stand on your tiptoes in a crowd of 400 to hear me!

MY GIFT TO YOU:

The 2010 book is being printed even as I type and will hit the shelves on March 2. But I’m already about halfway through the 2011 book – which is going to be unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. I’m not going to tell you all its secrets just yet – but here is a sneak peek from the beginning of the novel, in the voice of the main character, Zoe:
