March 5, 2007

Hi everyone!

Here are the top ten reasons why you should go out and buy a copy of Nineteen Minutes tomorrow:

  1. You haven’t used the bookstore giftcard you got for Christmas/Chanukah.
  2. You have nothing better to do on your lunch break.
  3. You’ve been waiting patiently for a year, since you inhaled The Tenth Circle
  4. There’s nothing good on TV on a Tuesday night.
  5. I asked nicely.
  6. You are sick – along with the rest of the free world – of seeing James Patterson at the top of a bestseller list (heck, he doesn’t even WRITE his own books anymore!)
  7. People will look at you enviously when you set it on your desk at work.
  8. It’s someone’s birthday, sooner or later, and if you don’t crack the spine you can read it first.
  9. You’ve visited the MySpace.com/nineteenminutes page, and want to see what all the fuss is about.

And… the number one reason you should get a copy:
  10. You’re gonna love it.

:)   In all seriousness, I really do hope you get a chance to pick up the book – and I hope you’ll write to tell me what you think…and if it got you talking.

News

To celebrate the arrival of Nineteen Minutes – a new podcast: The Story Behind Nineteen Minutes. Take a listen, and you’ll hear about the research I did with survivors of school shootings. And mark your calendars: additional podcasts will be released on April 4 and May 3!

Come Meet Me!

My American and UK tour schedules for Nineteen Minutes are posted below.

What’s Next?

Nineteen Minutes Jodi's new novel - in - progress For those of you who will read the book overnight and will be hankering for the next installment of Picoult prose, I invite you to check out my foray into comic books. DC Comics asked me to write five issues of Wonder Woman, and my first hits the stands on March 28th. It was great fun to write her (and I'm hoping they let me keep the boots and the tiara...) Enjoy!
